Great shot, Michael. With the beard, white hair and glasses, at first glance I thought it was a picture of me. I wondered "how the hell did he do that?" I like this sort of multi-dimensional trickery as well.

If I could remember how I did it, I'd be happy to share it with you.  I didn't indulge in any transmutational substances just before I clicked the shutter.  I didn't have my portable body transfer device with me at the time.  Oh well . . .

Michael,

I'm sure most of us have encountered similar situations with mirrors, whether in an elevator, restroom, or dressing room.  Nonetheless, the effect remains fascinating, not only from a geometric and mathematical standpoint, but also because of the myriad possible interpretations that it allows.

It's an interesting shot because it was taken in an elevator, which travels up and down, yet we are (apparently) looking quite a distance into the forward/backward direction and a bit in the side-to-side direction.  We can peer into the horizontal dimensions, but we can't physically visit the places we see.  The elevator can transport us to an alternate location in the vertical dimension, but the other dimensions look the same once we get there.  It's an unsettling, paradoxical thing to think about.  It brings up questions about illusions and reality, parallel universes, our own uniqueness, being alone with ourselves, the passage of time and the aging process, and conception and birth.  The photo could be the starting point for wide-ranging discussions.

I'm trying to decide if a tighter crop might keep the focus better on you and the reflections.  I can see how the foreground railing adds to the lattice, but on the other hand I'm more interested in the background reflections and would like to see more of them.
