Low autumnal sun through forest

The lighting , along with your camera and lens settings produced a most beautiful effect here.

The transition between the bright illuminated background to the mild foreground colors makes for a most pleasant view.

it's one of those places where I've walked a lot in different seasons & lightings.Knowing a place or person well, makes it easier to photograph them as they are.

Add to that my increasing feel for lenses & whoops! sometimes it's a good one.

The strongly defined trunks and branches set against a brighter background are very appealing, as is the soft foreground of fallen leaves.  Nicely exposed as well.

Sam,   I ditto the other comments, nicely done.  I think this might be even more impactful if the sky were not showing at top right.  You may want to duplicate the image and toy with cloning out the sky.  Best to you for the holiday and New Year.  Larry
