The Tree Within

I came across this old abandon Silo in the middle of the forest away

quite away from the nearest trail. I was quite surprised to see a tree

growing in the center.

This area was abused farm land in 1934, then became a recreation demonstration area by the national park service, before eventually being given to Missouri as Cuivre River State Park. I suspect this silo is from the 1930's and the forest grew up around and in it.

Wonderful find and image. What a determined tree! I guess the opening a the side helped and you did well to include it.

I've seen trees growing out of silos a few times but it never occurred to me to go inside! One of the most original shots I've seen here this year.
