I partially disagree with this being the rendition of the truth. A powerful portrait it definitely is, but the tone, and texture through over sharpening, somehow invades reality, and the sense of dignity.

Very artsy composition and fantastic emotion.

I do agree the over sharpening makes it look like a pencil sketch. My first thought in seeing this work was a Da Vinci self portrait.

A really nice composition that has a feeling of subtlely about it, which in itself tells a tale, adding a new layer of context. This is very thoughtful portrait photography indeed.
