I thought I was unique in shooting photographs of signs.  This one is fascinating in that it appears to convey information in 6 languages (or dialects, maybe?).  It also is curious that planning for a disaster is in close proximity to a playground.  It reminds me of scenes from Terminator movies.  I also like the combination of black/white and color.

Best,

michael

I like the photo. The variety of languages is interesting. I assume you know what each is, I sure don't. It almost seems like 120 meters away is another tube like this one, both disasterous to use, black holes maybe.

...some sunny day...

a lyrical caption for an image which can be seen as innocuous in the thermonuclear age...

or it can be viewed as a dark satiric statement

Jack, Your title is impressive and has strong sentimental feelings. However, in this image the circumstances are less dramatic as during WWII.

Empty playground; person running into a hole...all in all very sinister and apocalyptic. What is that tube anyway? I'd like to think that this is from a sci-fi movie and not real...so this one is more than a bit sobering to me.

Well seen.

The arrow points to a playground.  You frustrated optimist, you!  I also notice that to the right of the pole/announcement, there is no color--only a little circular patch around the playground, which I'm sure is highly intentional.

Jack,  The photograph is interesting because of the strong element of intrigue (disaster evacuation site) that challenges the viewers and the title adds a pinch of fatality. Beyond the massive imposing sign your image seems to have two separate sides. The first one, dark trees under the shade almost contaminated and the second one much smaller is the playground, sunny and hopeful but one would question if there is any nuclear plant close by especially after what happened not far back.  I hope it is a lot safer now.  Anyway, this is excellent work.  Regards,
