Great photo, Peter. Congratulations on a stunning capture. Shots like this don't seem to be very common.

 

As for possible improvements, this image may be a shade too dark overall. It also might add impact to accentuate the color echo between the tongue of the lion and the flesh in the carcass. That detail underscores the larger story here but is perhaps a little subdued.

Patrick, Thanks very much for the compliment and the feedback! It is a little dark. I brought the exposure down in an attempt to enhance the drama. I agree with you that it needs to be addressed so I will continue to play with that. Thanks for the tip on the accentuating the color of the tongue and carcass as a way of strengthening the story! This is a new concept for me and I will work with it. I learned something new! Thanks again.

Just my opinions Peter, definitely not expert advice! But since you specifically asked I decided to rack my brain. The image is already compelling, as it's ratings show :-)

Hard to chose. The other image looks more dramatic but this provides viewer with more details. I think I will go with this one.
