Very fine composition. But I view banding on the sky.

Well, I wouldn't call this art - to my taste this is rather in the range of kitsch. I like other photos in "Recent Submissions" much more, e.g. alter ego).

However, althought the idea or concept for this photo is not to my taste, it's not all bad - especially, because I think Arup has well transformed his idea into an image: the tonality (except for the banding, which might be due to PN compression) and composition is in fact good: small, dark boat vs. big, bright moon (which unfortunately looks a bit too much "photoshopped" into the image) and the faint landscape receding into distance work well to convey the 'idea' of the photo.

Well Wolfgang. To me art is something that makes an impression on me. "Kitch" is something not worth while. I would never use a word on something I considered "kitch".

I am pleased that we disagree, because here we have the deeper meaning of PN: the possibility of having different points of view.
