Ok I give up! what is it, and what does it do?

 

I am assuming it is part of the log processing equipment, but all those pulleys and wheels have me fascinated! 

I do hope all this equipment is being preserved!

Hi Alf,

thought you might like this :)  To my understanding, a skidder is used to drag logs out of the woods to a place where they can be loaded - hence all the cables. Today, bulldozers are used as skidders.

I don't personally like the effect of hdr when it is so obvious. Some folks can use it well in difficult light conditions. I'm not one of those...
