A slice of life, well-documented.  Lots of energy here plus I like the juxtaposition between the figures and the massive bridge structures.  This image is best viewed large to fully appreciate its vitality.

Quite an open perspective & vibrant scene, Jack...

The fine detail of the players seems extremely well rendered.

(I did open this up large)

It's funny, looking at this as a whole, it is so dynamic and modern in feel, quite rich, and almost a bit overwhelming…

However, when I scroll down and stop the image on the greens beyond (so that the field and players are all that remains to be seen), the picture might as well have been taken in the 1930's or so… (link)

A colored postcard from the past & modern public relations poster (for Osaka) in one...

Jack, your image reminds me of the work of the German landscape photographer, Fred Kruger, who worked in Victoria, Australia, during the 19th century.  His b/w landscapes typically include tiny folk going about their everyday business.  Have you thought of producing this in b/w?

I like this HDR feel. Colour and contrast are great. I also like the two bridges in between that leads to the cityscape. Good timing too for the game practice. Nice captures Jack. :)

I like the soft touch you employed in this image, which immediately had me thinking about photographs of American baseball players, circa 20s and 30s (without the contemporary architecture, of course).  There's just enough detail to enable one to appreciate the players' various stances.  The soft shadows are amazing.

My best,

michael

I really like the open feel of it.  There seems to be two different games going on here which was not apparent from first glance.  I like the contrast too, between the bridges, one ancient and one modern.

The main point I wish to say is that it seems very like a painting in the treatment given, which I really like.

Lots to look at and ponder, especially viewed large.

Great stuff !

What an excellent POV you had from your vantage point of this image Jack. Wonderful to see the boys enjoying their Baseball. My Jim is in a bit of 'withdrawl' and listens to all the Sports programs that have any mention of Baseball. It's so nice to see such an impressive colorful scene Jack. I love seeing more of 'where you live'!!
