Christal - I am pleased that you like it. This Fall, I spent three days with a photo.net photographer and his wife in Park Tremblant. I was greedy so I returned for a solo shoot. I started at 4:30 in the morning and drove two hours to get there about 6:30 and that is when I had this opportunity.

Line - I am also pleased that you liked it. Thank you very much for your generous rating.

All the very best,

Michael Linder - many Thanks.

Sylvain Harnois - merci beaucoup!

Joscelyn _ I appreciate your generosity. It is pretty cold here in Montreal tonight- I hope it is not so bad in Ontario.

HI Tony, Great shot. I like the light hitting the trees and the b&w tones are perfect for this but the mist steals the show. A beauty Tony.

Holger

Looks like the fog is swirling & lifting to reveal a splendid forest as the sun rises. Nice mood & well captured Tony.

Tony, you chose the right word to describe your photo .... ENCHANTED! .... and it certainly is. That mist, obliterating some of the forest (trees) adds a "dreamscape" atmosphere to the pic, as though it came from a sorcerer's paintbrush. The black, grey, and white tones are perfect, and they create a beautiful, albeit somewhat chilling, atmosphere. And we can expect some wizard or Jurassic creature to appear from the "forbidden world" at any time. I especially like that sense of "motion" that permeates the photo, present in that all-encompassing fog. What else can I say about that mysterious mood ..... after all, it's in b&w ..... my favorite type of photography. And I reiterate that nothing creates a mood quite like b&w photography! Well done Tony, as usual.

You caught this at just the right time of day where the ground fog both revealed and obscured. The result is a terrific multi-layered forestscape that is equal parts dream and reality.

Can't add much more to what has already been said;this is one of those scenes that you know the moment you press the button that getting there was all worth it.Choice image worth top rating.Bravo!

Meilleures salutations-Laurent

Tony,  L'enchanteur Merlin wouldn' t have taken a better photograph.  It is technically immaculate. Your forest inspires mysteries and fairies.   With admiration,

I don't know how it happened, but the image picked its own title.  It has an amazing dreamlike atmosphere, leading the viewer to believe that indeed something magical has occurred in this place.  The first row of tall trees seems to emerge from the fog, as if they are Ents starting their afternoon stroll.

Wonderful work of museum quality . . .

This is excellent, indeed.  I like the color version as well, but this has that ethereal magic.

Thanks for the heads up on the color conversion.  New computer, new PS install, and wrong color instructions.

I had a 'boss' that told me on a couple of occasions that "perception is reality". I have the perception that it has been quite a while since I have had the opportunity to capture an image that resulted in so many positive critiques and I am very thankful for that opportunity. I am also thankful for the positive ratings which ranged from a couple of anonymous '4's to a number of '7's.

I spent 3 days (Oct, 1,2,3) this year in Tremblant and I did not get this scene. I went back a week later for one more day and was fortunate to be in a position to capture this. This mist was not static and the scene would evolve every few seconds. I took a 2nd image and I am hopeful that it might be more artistic than this one but I have not had a chance to evaluate it as yet.

I usually try and visit anyone who has commented on my images but that will be a little slow since I am taking a little time off from photo.net since I am beginning to feel what could be a mild case of burnout.

All the best and stay in touch,

The scene reinforces that photography is 'painting with light'.  Beautiful tonal range and contrast.  One can practically see the mist moving over the trees.

Another wonderful masterpiece, Tony.  Congratulations!

A different look from a digital B&W. I can see the crystals of the Silver halides as if it is traditional print. I really liked this Extra-ordinary post processing which enhance the mood of the original scene. Bravo and congratulation Tony for this in-deep feeling of beauty.
