Sunflow (in Maine)

Incorporating the brilliant sun in this image gave me an interesting

challenge and some reflections that I wasn't expecting.

 

Comments??

I think it doesn't succeed. The glare spoils the sunflower. I think also there's too much space on the left and top, would prefer a crop compositionally, with the flower almost filling the frame. Also, I think the sun looks out of place in the image, it doesn't fit aesthetically and adds a second subject that competes and distracts too much from the flower. Sorry for being so critical.

I think that you are correct with all your comments. The crop improves the image. The sun? well that was the point of the picture. I have others, from different angles, which avoided the sun but I wanted the sun in this one.
