United Brethren Church in Elberton, Washington, in the heart of the

Palouse. Elberton is a certified ghost town, and only about 15 people

now reside there. This church has been abandoned for years.

Great eye to see this.  I love the textures, shapes and composition.  How about a b/w version?...  Mike

Very nice composition.  I think the differences in color between the two windows add something to the image which would be lost in the black and white.  Take care, Phil

There is always something sad when a piece of once glorious architecture comes to this.On the other hand, there is always a good photographer who will develop  a positive piece of art in seizing a good image of it as this one.Well done!

Mike.....didn't think of trying it in B&W.   Here is the result after a quick conversion.  Thanks!

Ruud....thanks for your kind words.

Phil....I usually prefer color and often don't think to even try B&W unless I take the image with that effect in mind.  I do prefer the color in this instance, but I think the B&W also has merit.  What do you think?  Thanks!

Laurent.....what a nice compliment.  Thank you!

I think both versions have merit.  Color gives this old building warmth and character while the b/w shows off the varied shapes, tones and textures.  Well done either way....  Mike

I've always been fascinated from the abandoned places... Houses, buildings, dismissed places, factories... and objects too. And I also lve so much (don't know why, honestly...) the subject windows and doors. Also for this I am attracted from this photo, really well done with beautiful details. Congrats!!
