Particularly in the corn-growing belts of India it is a common siight to see

roadside vendors serving up the delicious roasted (or barbecued) corn on

the cob. In recent years the most popular variety is known as American

corn (reportedly the seeds have originated from the USA). It is generally

sweeter than traditional Indian varieties. Many people still prefer the

larger and denser kernels of the Indian-origin varieties. The husk is

removed and placed on a wood charcoal fire. The vendor keeps turning

the corn so that the kernels are roasted but not particularly burnt - i

would call it controlled burning of the kernels. It takes about 4 to 5

minutes for it to be ready to be served. It is served in the husk with a

coating of salt and red chili powder soaked in fresh lime juice. It is cheap

and very nourishing. And very very popular.

Very warm and tasty atmosphere! That's what I think is important on this and other masterpieces! The mood, the atmosphere, the livelihood!
