chris_collins8 0 Posted November 1, 2013 John,The chunks of ice make this photo for me. Both in the foreground and in the water. Your composition and the color are really great. Thank you for sharing this image!Chris Link to comment

patflynn 0 Posted November 3, 2013 I could look at this one a long time - it's just beautiful throughout the frame. The sky does distract me a little, mainly against its reflection in the water. The reflection is not darker than its source as one would expect, and also the features don't seem to be exactly mirrored. The foreground ice really makes it for me, as noted above. Congrats on this! new_zealand_landscapes 0 Posted November 3, 2013 Yes you are right Patrick I darkened the sky and lightened the water. For the print I saw this and lightened the sky, as I realised it was a bit much.Do you think I should burn the water? I don't want the image to be too mucky. Thanks for the valuable feedback. Link to comment
patflynn 0 Posted November 4, 2013 John, it's a privilege to exchange opinions about this awesome photo with its creator! I do think yes to burning the water - perhaps just at the reflection of the mountaintop. The distant peak is a natural focal point for the eye within the top third, so I felt a certain void in my viewing experience when that dark stripe reaching down in the clouds, did not appear in the reflection on the water. A perfectionist could nitpick forever I'm sure, but for me that single detail would make everything look and feel complete. Thanks again for posting, and for trading comments! Link to comment
