Orchids are amazing flora imho. I have many images of them from different locales, but I never tire of looking at them. This one is very well captured with that Sigma 60. Love the lush green BG as well.

Hi Rajat,

A nice scene.

However, u[on close examination, the yellow section of the plant is not in sharp focus, even though F/4 was used.

The large green leaf  behind and to the bottom left is clearly focused.

I question whether there was a focus shift during the exposure, or perhaps the autofocus selected the wrong part of the image. It is unusual for a shorter focal length lens to have its focus change when the f-stop is changed, but I have seen that issue in my lab.

Holger, I too love these highly individualistic plants, and enjoy photographing them. This was in the conservatory adjacent to Lincoln Park Zoo. It is perhaps the finest gathering of exotic plant to be seen in a restricted space.

Mike, I realized the focus error only when I viewed it on the computer. I'm not sure of the cause. Its such a beautiful plant that I decided to post it anyway.
