I usually do not rate birds as I do not know much about bird photography, leaving me debating between a 5-6 and a 6-7... but I had no problem selecting the highest grades for this series... Just wonderful!

The same as Line I don't normally rate bird photos, but this is so stunning and eye catching that it must be a 7. A fine piece of art and a good capture in every technical respect. Love the reflection. Best wishes William.

Merci Beaucoup Laurent!

Merci Beaucoup Line! I think the rating of people who don't shoot bird are more accurate in term of aesthetic than the people who shoot bird because the birdshooter may over rate an image since we know how difficult it is to get a certain shot. However, it's also a hit and miss for bird shooter because some bird might be difficult to get in some location but abundant in other location (such as Bald Eagle is rare in California but abundant in certain place in Alaska ... ). Just my thought! :-)

Thanks Radu!

Tm J,

One does need to view the larger version to really appreciate all that's going on here!

Exceptional in every way! And it obviously speaks for itself, . . . drawing a few from other genres here! Way to go!

Regards always,

Jim j.

Beautiful capture, really quite impressive. Did you use an extension tube for this shot Tim???? (may sound dumb, but still learning). Lovely capture of action and beautiful reflections as well.

Thanks Monte! Good to hear from you.

Thanks Gail!  I used the 1.4X TC to make the 500mm becomes a 700mm on this one. You probably mean extender (as in 1.4 extender -teleconverter), I think. Since extension tube is for getting closer to the subject under the minimum focusing distance of the lens (for this lens it's 15 feet) but for this shot I was probably 50,60 feet away.  Glad to hear from you Gail!  :-)
