Martyn, this shot is exactly how I remember Wast Water, infact the whole of the lakes; windswept, cold and majestic! I used to live a long while back in Keswick and, as I now reside in germany, this shot makes me extra nostalgic. I feel as though the camera, and hence the viewer, is floating above the ground somewhat. I feel the shot needs anchoring, a tether! A bit of foreground interest may help this, as might a tighter crop. Or a lower view at the time of shooting. I would have also gone to town with the contrast on this shot, but that is just my current minor obsession. Great shot, thanks.

Hi Scott,

Yes this was more of a rush composition simply to catch the suns ray breaking through the sky, it was a particular dull and drab day. I had a bit of work trying to control the severe highlight coming from the break in the clouds compared to the fore ground. Thank you for commenting.
