This is a representation of the main characters, of one of the five major epics in Tamil language (South Indian). The wife set a new milestone in jurisprudence proving that her husband was innocent (posthumously :-().

The husband was convicted and executed for the possession of a stolen object ( an anklet), which she establishes is her own, by showing that evidence as established by outer appearance was faulty and that the internals of the jewelry should have been taken into account. Well the hero is already dead and so the king ( and the judge) also gives up his life..
