Stark and somewhat foreboding, but strikingly beautiful.  The only suggestion I might offer would be to burn the grass a tad in the lower left, it keeps pulling my eye down.  Regardless, well done...  Mike

Hi Christal,

Beautiful scene with wonderful colors, lighting & details.  I visited the Badlands a few years ago such an amazing place to see.  Take care, Patsy

Just spent a couple of days in the swiss Alps buy they were too cloud-covered to get anything worthwhile. This image is truly breath-taking. The contrasts, tones and textures make it an image I want to explore again and again - imagining its me roaming over the peaks, not just my eyes!

Great pic. thanks for posting.

Mike.....I totally agree!  It may not get done though unless I decide to print this.  :-)  I have too many new pictures to load.  Believe it or not I never loaded any pictures from my first Alaska trip, and now that I've returned from my 2nd Alaska trip, I AM going to post some pictures.  :-)  Thanks for the suggestion.

Wanghan.....good to hear from you.....thanks so much!

Patsy....I agree.  We were only there for 1 day on our way out west.  I could spend an entire week there easily.  Good to hear from you, Patsy!

Graham....what a disappointment that must have been!  That's the gamble of traveling.  You're only in a place for a couple of days, and you're at the mercy of the weather.   It rained almost every day of our big trip out west (just returned).  Fortunately for us, the first 2 days we were in Denali, the skies cleared and we got to see Mt. McKinley (Denali) in all its glory.  The rangers told us that only 30% of the tourists every get to see it.  At any rate, I'm glad you like the image.  Thanks for your visit.

Christal,  This is an interesting and effective image.  I like the light - some might even say "overexposed" mountains against the darker foreboding sky.  I like it just as it is.  Nice job.  Regarding the comment about the grass, I'd crop a bit of it out, keeping enough to offer the contrast you are seeking.  Nice image.  Larry
