Ok, this begs to question... why did the cow cross the road?  Or maybe... steer grade ahead (yes, I know this is not a steer)... ;-)  Well captured... Mike

A good shot at a good moment, Christal.  What I find interesting is the clouds / mist in the background.  A beautiful view, I think.

Mike.....I should start consulting you about titles for my images.  Most of my titles are pretty lame.  Good to hear from you!

Bill....I agree....the background helps in this instance.  We had bad weather for much of our trip.  Fog in the mountains made for some pretty harrowing moments.  But as I recall, we came around a turn and saw this fella.....I had to react quickly, and I think I shot this through the window.  That may account for some of the effect.  Thanks for stopping by.

Different, interesting, odd (in a good way).  Something about the grade warning sign juxtaposed with the cow gives a slightly surreal feeling to this photo.  The angle of the truck aims down toward the cow.  I would almost be tempted to crop in from the right to get rid of the tree at far right.  This would help accentuate the 3 signs at right even more, and thus the surreality.  The signs would balance out the bare trees at left.  The misty background and empty road also add to this odd moment.

Lastly, since you mentioned titles, I would consider giving this a very neutral title.  Something along the lines of "Cow crossing State Road 34".  I would not try to force the viewer into a humorous interpretation of this photo, or call attention to what was actually going on.  "MOOOVE please" is both humorous, and it also implies that the photographer was driving and had to stop to wait for the cow to cross.  A neutral title leaves more open to interpretation and can enhance both mystery and the sense of the surreal.   The title you have is cute and humorous, but it thereby imposes a "cute" interpretation upon the photo.

These are just my opinions and what I would do with this photograph if I had taken it (crop it, and retitle it).  But take my comments with a grain of salt, because my photographic tastes run to the odd and surreal.  I really like this photo and would like to see its strengths (or what I perceive to be its strengths) accentuated.

Some excellent feedback on this.  I can certainly see this with the trees cropped on the right.  It would give a sense of not knowing where the cow is going!    As for the title, I do see your point.  I think there is a real art to giving titles.  Some people are so good at naming images.....(I am not one of them).  I'll keep working at it though.  Thanks, Scott.
