Wayne Sadler 564 Posted October 10, 2013 The view towards the Vatican along Via della Conciliazione in Rome, Italy is impressive, so is the traffic. I felt the processing challenge was how to convey the grandeur of this view and simplify or at least make less busy the street traffic. Comments and critique welcome Link to comment

thadley 15 Posted October 11, 2013 A fine image WAYNE. To achieve your objective I am thinking that you could boost contrast and increase 'lightness' to the buildings. Just a thought! Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted October 11, 2013 The grandeur you have captured well, Wayne. Tony's suggestions are however worth considering. Link to comment

Wayne Sadler 564 Posted October 11, 2013 Thanks Mike, Tony, Pierre, Rajat and Ruud. I appreciate your commenting and help. I think it a good idea to play more with the contrast. At one point while processing I felt the street and buildings were too “light” and I did some selective contrasting, but when I arrived at this crop the grandeur of the place hit me and the traffic seemed to fade in importance to me. jim_air 0 Posted October 13, 2013 I do like the overall effect a lot - nice, busy, atmosphere. The architecture is just great. The muted colours and blur of a lot of the tourists and stalls lend a pleasing aspect. I do find however that the cross bands on the two male tourists in the foreground, particularly the white shirt, but also the blue, distracting. They clash with the many verticals of the architecture. You could photoshop these out if you agreed and were inclined. In fact, thinking more about it, I would either change the colour of the white shirt, or blur him a bit, or both.Kindest regardsJim Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 564 Posted October 13, 2013 Great analysis, Jim. You've made me aware of just how irritating these "cross bands" and the blue and white tops are. I think you have solved my problem. That's why this is such a great forum for displaying art. Don't think I would have figured that out on my own. Thanks, again. I very much appreciate your stopping by and offering this help. lynnemass 10 Posted October 13, 2013 Great capture although I wish it were less centered. I agree that the crossbands are distracting. But an interesting composition nonetheless. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 564 Posted October 13, 2013 Thanks, Lynne. I usually avoid centering but I thought this image demanded perfect centering. Link to comment
