John Peri 1,033 Posted October 10, 2013 Apologies to Mike Palermiti who commented within a few moments on the colour version that I first uploaded. I persist in thinking that black and white is better suited to artistic nudes, but that of course is a matter of opinion. I will add it to the thread below so that others may decide independently. mike_palermiti 3 Posted October 10, 2013 Hi John,I understand the flexibility that we each have to change a posting to what think is best.No apologies needed my friend.I do like this image. I am a B&W enthusiast from many years of shooting nudes, semi-nudes and glamour (fashion) models in my studio using medium format film cameras. What I liked about the color version was this beautiful model's complexion and her hair as it complimented the rich leather color tones. The added black stocking was a nice touch as well.A fine presentation either way.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
Elstad 9 Posted October 10, 2013 A lovely portrait John, either way. The color version is punchier contrast wise though. Have you ever used Nik software's Silver Efex Pro 2??? It is an amazing b/w converter that can mimic the look of all the old films and much much more in the way of adjustments. You can try it for free for a couple of weeks. Watch out though as you will certainly want it after trying it. Its the old Puppy Dog close... Here, take this little puppy home for a couple of weeks and see how you get along. I do indeed highly recommend the program however. It works as a plug in for photoshop, p shop elements, lightroom and more. Do look at the tutorials though as it is deep and though easy to use once you know how, it can be confusing at first.Raymond Link to comment
