Nice detailed picture of a glass filled with wine, Cara! I like it, although can't see what kind of wine it is exactly, you know, I'm a big fan of wine but of certain brands and models, ha!

Thanks, Pierre!  You'll laugh, then, because it was an inexpensive bottle of cab (Chateau St. Michelle or something really mass produced like that).  It had been on my counter for a week with just one glass consumed by a friend and then simply corked.  I knew it had likely turned, so I was about to dump it and then thought...wait, I'm going to get a picture of that quickly.  I wish I could say it was something lovely and that I actually enjoyed it.  

I haven't submitted for critique yet, but would love feedback on this photo

and would like to experience the critique process. I was using a 90mm

lens for the first time and I was in front of a window - so this is natural

light. Any suggestions for improve are greatly appreciated. The only post

production was some minimal cropping.

Cara, this is a very nice close up.  I like the deep red color of the wine and the curve of the glass.  Bravo!

I really like the shadows and the colour. I find the white glow around the stem distracting and the contrast between the stem and the bowl a little too much. 

That is just my humble opinion.
