I hope this comment helps you to. In my humble opinion there is one technique that can help you in this picture:

• I see that the saturation is too high, I imagine this is because the contrast. This was a difficult photo with too much light in the background and the statue very dark.
• The technique that can help you in this picture is HDR, this method takes 3 pictures and merge them. It enhance the detail of the darker area in the over exposed picture and viceversa with the underexposed image (you can find many literature on internet about this)
