The Bellagio fountains are better at night when they turn on the lights. I would suggest trying it at night in continuous shooting mode. As it's constantly changing you want as many images as possible to choose from. When I was there, I took a lot of pictures. But I found it hard to find an appealing point of view. The images were interesting, but none were great. In retrospect, I kind of wished I had just shot video of it, to capture a whole song.

Siegfried, thanks for the comments.  I do plan on shooting at night next time I visit. I'll have to check out which angle is best since the casinos will all have their lights on.

I had not even thought about the continuous shooting mode - guess I'm still getting used to digital.

I agree with the night shooting recommendation. I also recommend going around to the side of the lagoon in front of the Bellagio entrance to the registration desk area. Your shots will have the Paris resort, Eiffel Tower, and balloon in the background.  Every casino has a parking deck, and the top level of the Bellagio's deck gives a nicely elevated view of the lagoon. And all of the shots work as well in B&W as in color. And, if time allows, be there at 3 PM on Sunday for the first show of the day, always choreographed to "Time to Say Goodbye" by Andrea Boccelli.

Bob,  I'll remember the parking deck vantage point!  I hadn't even thought about taking shots from there.  I am anxious to try some night shots.  Even as I was taking these, I told my brother we'd need to try it at night next time I visit.
