I like this image but in my constant (and often loosing) search of perfection I make the following comment: This image would have benefited from approx. 1/2 stop less light.  This would have preserved just a little more detail in the highlights and still retained detail in the shadows.  The highlights, mainly in the lower right, are just a tad overexposed.  Having said all that I really light the feel and composition of this image.  Very nice depth-of-field too.  Keep up the good work

Craig,

today's fact of digital photography, especially when you shoot in RAW, is, that the photographer can create all sorts of atmospheres & moods by twiddling with the buttons & handles in a program on his computer.

The final outcome depends on the taste, mood & memory - of how he saw the scene - of the photographer.

Thanks very much for your contribution of interpreting this image.

cheers

Sam

I could not agree with you more.  Art is such a subjective field and everyone will have an opinion, I try to take comments and critiques (which can be very hard to get on PN) and learn from them.  I wish there was some way to get more people to critique images but hey, it is easier just to click a numbered rating and move on.  Anyway, even with the issues I mentioned for this image I really do like it (and many others in your portfolio) and when it comes right down to it, if the artist likes and is satisfied with their work, then it is truly successful.  Take care and continued success.
