sideris 0 Posted September 11, 2013 Playing with light and color, taken with an orange optical filter, tungsten common lamp, handheld. Link to comment
mike_palermiti 3 Posted September 11, 2013 Hi Carlos,A marvelous image displayed. An excellent choice of color used for this presentation.Orange presents a balance between yellow and red, which still remains with in the usefulspectral range of most lens and certainly camera sensors.I suggest that a good fixed focal length lens be employed rather than a zoom lens. The contrastlevel would be improved due to the improved optical system.Best Regards my friend, Mike Link to comment
garyminor 0 Posted September 12, 2013 Hi Carlos, I like the very warm tones the use of light and shadows. Very painterly effect. Link to comment

sideris 0 Posted September 13, 2013 This is a photo taken in 2006 with my venerable 6 Mpx Pentax IstD and the standard (cheap) 18-55 mm lens, with the Auscam O58 Orange filter, almost as a fool game, trying to understand the light behavior under certain conditions. This is the final result without any kind of alterations. Of course I experimented with the red filter, and the green filter as well, but all those works doesn't have too much value. At the end of the day the orange was more profitable. Thank you a lot for your comment my friend! GaryBelieve me, the painterly effect was not premeditated, it was a lucky accident! And I must agree with you, the warm light is very attractive, it seems hospitable and inviting at the same time. Thank you very much for your visit. MaurizioThank you very much for your flattering words dear Mau, it is the final result of a series of experiments with different color optical filters. I know that software filters are more flexible with a wider range of options, but optical filters are more exciting, because we are using physical natural phenomena, then you must learn to understand the light behavior, a more genuine photographic path, at least for me. Thank you again. Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted September 14, 2013 Penicillin was an "accident .. mais "la chance favorise les ésprits préparés" as Pascal rightly said .. :-) The interplay of light, colour and shadow brings a special flavour to this image that transgresses time and place. A little like the single photon that is thrown at two parallel slits on a board where there is interference without any existing at the outset, though if you record the passage through one slit or the other, it disappears as you know ... : -), this is what this image brings to mind. Fascinating, love the effect. Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted September 14, 2013 Your sharpened comment reminds me my early years at the university, perhaps you don't know, but my career of those crazy years were the physics of particles, so I am barely familiarized with the ghost photon traveling-disappearing through the parallel slits... the magic of the quantum physics!About the photograph, very appropriated analogy, because here some changes on the light crossing the filter in it way to the sensor had place, more close to the newtonian than the quantum, but with the same kind of magic, especially when the subject is the marvelous human geography like in this case. However I consider this work as the early attempts of an amateur... and I still being one! Thank you very much John, today you've removed the dust of my old memories.PS: Pascal was right without a shadow of doubt. Link to comment
