Not Here 93 Posted September 28, 2013 I remember your color version and as good as it was, I prefer this b/w. The moody old home is well defined and the cold is tangible... Mike Link to comment
ryourth 0 Posted September 28, 2013 Hi Mike- Thanks for taking the time to express your well reasoned thoughts It's years since I was in a darkroom & must admit to enjoying working in B& W again.. The beauty of B&W imaging is you are starting off with an abstract image & can follow many paths. Best Regartds-Ross Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted September 28, 2013 Ross, The values in this B&W are excellent and the sharpness, spot on. I like the way the tree and grasses point to the house. One challenge in photographing buildins is in keeping them from leaning backward because we often have to tilt the camera to get them in the image. I don't think this is the case here; actually, the slight tilt works to the image's advantage. Perhaps I mention this because it's a continuous challenge for me. Nice image. Thanks for visiting my Oregon image. Larry Link to comment
ryourth 0 Posted September 28, 2013 Hi Larry-Thanks for visiting & for your thoughtful comments. Pleased that you like the image, I liker it for mainly the same reasons you do. Unfortunately, when I made my yearly treck for a visit, I found it had been demolished & replaced with rows of much alike houses with postage sized backyards. Thanks again for your comments. gajbarker 0 Posted September 28, 2013 This one really grabs the viewer's attention. I also like the way the large tree draws you into the scene. Well done! Link to comment
jimpete 0 Posted September 28, 2013 I prefer this one Ross. It seems to fit B & W better. Quite moody and contrasty and creepy. Nice Halloween type of shot. Link to comment
