I wasn't using a tripod, so even the background is soft from my movement at 0.3 seconds (f22) 55mm micro.  I should do it again with a tripod for a different overall effect.

It's blurry alright. I can usually see the same effect in a photo if I take my eye glasses off. I'm not too sure what you are trying to achieve.. Perhaps more of an abstract look?
