Landrum Kelly 65 Posted August 30, 2013 Next to where the old bridge once was is now a boat ramp as well as a floating dock where persons can sit and look down the river--or launch small boats. Here is one glimpse of a portion of that floating dock. A figure can be seen. This crop was not from the same file as shown at the top of the page, but not much changed over the short duration of my shoot. --Lannie Link to comment

mike_palermiti 3 Posted August 30, 2013 Hi Lannie,This is a very nice sequence of images that you obtained with the Nikkor 17-35 F/2.8 mm lens. The short zoom ratio lens are best, like this 2:1 design, because it is easiest to preserve the goals of the design, and easier to manufacture because of the number of elements involved and the distance travel required to focus the lens assembly.I have used my Nikkor 17-35 F/2.8 for a wide range of professional tasks as well as my own casual enjoyment of a variable wide angle lens that offers above average performance.A well done presentation my friend.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 65 Posted September 1, 2013 Thanks, Mike. To get the detail of the people on the floating dock, I needed a longer lens--and I had one on the other camera hanging from my neck. I simply did not see anyone--or the floating dock--until I got home and put the file up on the computer screen. --Lannie Link to comment
