keaggy220 0 Posted September 13, 2003 I caught her in an unusually quiet mood on this day. Link to comment
t._n._williams 0 Posted September 13, 2003 What are those smudge/streaks all along her body at the top? tn Link to comment
t._n._williams 0 Posted September 13, 2003 There are like 6 "eraser" like smudges from her crown to shoulder. There are a couple more further down as well. I say eraser because it reminds me of eraser drag. They are coming out of her hair/body and into the background. Just wondering what they are. And if it is an artistically intentional thing. I do like the emotion conveyed on her face. Looks like it was a long day. tn Link to comment
keaggy220 0 Posted September 13, 2003 Interesting. I really don't see it, but I've never had an eye for details. I did take out some of the backgound - which was a distraction... It could be the way my monitor is calibrated. Thanks for the comments. Link to comment
jimmcnitt 0 Posted September 14, 2003 Hi Matthew: Beautiful light on this and the extremely fine detail -- especially around the eyes -- is a tribute to your steady hand (and perhaps the Canon 10D, you lucky dog!). My only suggestion for improvement is that the she's so quiet that her far away look seems bordering on a daze. The reason is just that your lighting is so soft, her eyes didn't pick up any catchlights. Add a couple of spectral triangular wedges to her eyes in PS, and I think you'll be amazed at how will transform this entire scene. Thanks for you visit to my portfolio, it's much appreciated! --Jim Link to comment
keaggy220 0 Posted September 14, 2003 Jim, Thanks for the kind words. I'm interested in your suggestion, but I am not familiar with spectral triangular wedges. Also the CP5700 is not too shabby and your portfolios are incredible. Link to comment
mjd 0 Posted September 16, 2003 I can also see the streaks in the background. Is there some kind of wall wainscotting behind? That's what the streaks look like at any rate. I like the mood very much. I would burn in the mother's right arm a bit. Link to comment
