Hi Lannie,

You have obtained a very nice scenic image using the 17 mm at F/5.6. The zoom lens is optimal between F/4 to F/5.6 and the Nikon D800E does well with the natural color rendered.

For myself, I like the shadow from the bridge as it is a part of natural event and it adds character to the scene, too.

I would suggest using ISO 200 rather thna ISO 100. photographers have the wrong idea about "noise" and ISO  anyway, and it has been shown in the lab that most cameras set to ISO 100 do NOT yield as good a n overall image dynamic than those set to ISO 200.

The only time I use any of my cameras (and I have over 50 different ones) at low ISO set points is if I am using a high speed lens during a bright day and the camera has a limited shutter speed, then ISO 100 or lower is employed.

On scen es like this, especially with the Nikon D800E and other full frame models, the effects of ISO 100 are not easily seen, but the facts remain as they are from the perspective of the Physics of the sensor.

Best Regards my friend, Mike
