A few weeks old baby cheetah born in a zoo and although the cheetah enclosure is a couple of thousand square meters is still a little sad to see these magnificent animals 'behind bars'....

This is the mother at the perimeter of the enclosure some fifty meters away, who although is fed by the zoo keepers she has not forgotten her hunting and killing skills and when a stray wild rabbit wondered in the cheetah enclosure she killed him in seconds. Unfortunately I did not see that and I only saw her when she was coming out of the bushes.

I am not so sure that zoo animals belong to this category, not according to

F.I.A.P regulations, but there is no other. Thank you for viewing and

commenting.

Adorable! Nicely captured and presented. Good detail, good use of the setting to create a sense of playfulness. You might consider trying to bring out the eyes just a touch. Well done.

Thank you for your kind comments. In fact her eyes were darker and I brought them out a bit. On my monitor they look OK...I am always cautious about overdoing things...but I hear you. Again thanks.

My monitor tends to be a little dark so it probably is fine. If you did any more I would say just a slight touch.

I just calibrated mine Charles, but I will go back to the original and see what it looks like, but from what I remember they were very dark. Thank you again.

One of these days I am going to go to the Serengeti and photograph these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. You mentioned the mother...0-60 MPH in 3 sec,,,and is very sad that she would never run that fast again. Thank you very much for your comment and visit.

The viewing enclosure was very crowded as the birth of the four cubs she has given birth to was a rare event and we were behind glass too so I took the lend hood off and I literally 'stack' the lens to the glass and managed to get a couple of decent shots, most of the time they were far away in the tall grass or they were were behind other obstructions. Thank you very much for your comment my friend.

After viewing this image earlier, I felt compelled to return and make a comment.  As was noted by Harry previously, there are no tall tales signs of this image being taken in a zoo, and the fact that you made the image through glass and from such a distance makes it all the more remarkable!

The detail, textures and clarity are excellent, and the pose and expression of the cub make it all the more delightful to view.

Sincere Compliments!
