Finally got to meet my neighbor Alicia who makes these marvelous pinatas that I've seen hanging outside at night. She noticed my camera flash and flashlight while I was trying the long exposure painting with light trick. From her upstairs window she said "Hey, mister..."

I had a flashback to the opening scene in Bonnie and Clyde when Faye Dunaway catches Warren Beatty trying to steal her mama's car. "Hey, bow-wee."

Alicia's a bit camera shy so no photos of her. But she showed me her workshop. Turns out she makes these all from scratch - handmade wire forms, no store bought kits. She replicates popular cartoon movie characters just from looking at the pictures on snack packages. She laughed and said "Nooo!" when I told her she is an artist.

She *is* an artist.

My neighbor makes amazing piñatas, often hanging them from trees in

the yard to dry. I like to sneak out and snap pix late at night. She

caught me photographing this one. I was using a slow shutter speed,

flash and flashlight to enhance the eerie blur. It's going to be

Batman. Or maybe Batmañata.
