Good POV to take in the nice scene offered by the historic buildings hanging on the steep slope from the river.I do not see any cars on the narrow street,so I assume it must be a pedestrian walk with the umbrellas shading some eating places.Looks like an interesting place and your shot of it is excellent.Good work!

I haven't ever been to Mostar and now when I see a picture of it or hear about it I feel bad, very bad cause the bloody paramilitary forces destroyed the famous bridge after which Mostar was celebrated! Even the name Mostar comes from the word most (bridge)!

Best regards, Eystein!

A lovely image that has been very well captured.

I had no idea where Mostar was located so I looked it up and here is what I found:

Mostar is a city and municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the largest and one of the most important cities in the Herzegovina region, its cultural capital and the center of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of the Federation. Mostar is situated on the Neretva river and is the fifth-largest city in the country. Mostar was named after the bridge keepers (natively: mostari) who in the medieval times guarded the Stari Most (Old Bridge) over the Neretva. The Old Bridge, built by the Ottomans in the 16th century, is one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's most recognizable landmarks, and is considered one of the most exemplary pieces of Islamic architecture in the Balkans.

Laurent, Pierre, Tony, Ruud and Marco, thank you for looking. I spent some time in Croatia this spring, and I took a day trip to Mostar and spent a few hours there. The bridge was destroyed during the war in 1993, but was reconstructed in 2004, and it looks excactly like it did before. They even picked up the original stones from the river, so that most of the material is original.

Even you spent just few hours there you did some excellent shots and this one I like how is composed in diagonal line with houses, mosque tower looks very good in top of the line, not to forget that walls texture create a nice effect.

Thank you Saad. This is the muslim part of the city, and I think most of it is rebuilt and repaired.
