A beautiful arrangement seen here.

Like my previous comment about using flash for fill light purposes, this scene could easily benefit for such use.

You certainly can increase the brightness in post processing as well, but post processing is NOT going to develop anything that is not already recorded. The fill flash will often enhance the color tones to a "rich saturation level" that post processing can not do.
