Singing Cardinal

Finally got one with his beak open. Shot was pretty dark so I added

some light in PS. Comments?

I actually thought you darkened the background and not lighened the bird. Either way, I really like the way it draws the viewers' eye into the photo.

Thanks, David. Didn't get a chance at cardinal shots this year because the greenjays are keeping them away. However, did get lots of greenjay shots, so can't complain.

My personal fav. of your cardinal folder. I like the mood that you have created with the lighting effect. I'm in awe.

I'm SOOO jealous. Been trying to shoot one of the few we have here, and they're so shy, they just keep flying away. Even sitting still for an hour or more, they avoid my lens. Care to share your secret? Beautiful shots of a beautiful bird.
