Miss Line

The feeling of perspective is excellent. The texture almost uniform of the main elements helped highlight the perspective of the photo. All lines converge toward a tree occupying a decentralized position, increasing the effect of the left wall in the perspective that will feel great attraction of the photo. The choice of B&W and the tones of gray also contributed greatly to the prospective effect. It is a photo as well simple, but full of technical concepts that make it an excellent photographic work which focuses on the perspective. Congratulations. Roldao

Thank you for taking the time to explain what you think works in this image. it means a lot to me, as it took me a long time to really see this image.  I took this shot a year ago and have processed it 3 or 4 times over that time, but could not be satisfied with the results as the earth and rusty tones would compete as well as blend together not giving enough importance to the defining lines. So, today I was going to work on some digital alteration and remembered this photo as I wanted a staircase. When I brought it up on screen I finally SAW it! Before I did photography I did black and white drawings for many, many years... I went back to my roots in art and I am pleased that you like the result.

Sincerely, Line

Line,

Excellent use of leading lines to draw the eye in. Having the tree instead of negative space helps play organic vrs not nicely.  B&W was a good choice here for the limited tones you have.  Thanks for this one.

Stunning work Line,

I'd like to echo the other comments, and also commend you on the excellent control of perspective and other technical aspects of the photo. The B&W conversion also is perfectly suited to the subject matter. I'd have probably made things more contrasty, but I think that the image would have suffered as a result; I will be bearing this in mind as a lesson in the appropriateness of restraint in processing in the future!

Thanks so much for sharing, and congratulations again on a superb photo. I'd have very much liked to have seen that journey in processing you mentioned, as the results show a great deal of thought has gone into it.

Best wishes, Mark

I think that the initial problem was exactly due to contrast. After converting to BW, it still was not as defined as I wanted. I corrected by reducing shadows and highlights...

Very strong graphic image with great tones and detail. The tree at the end of the steps really makes this stand out from the many architectural images often seen.
