mike_palermiti 0 Posted August 17, 2013 Hi Lannie,Nice results at this time of nightfall. At first glance, I felt that this was a scene from a suspense film , like something out of the norm might just happen.Good mood created.Best Regards my friend, Mike Link to comment

AmyHelmick 0 Posted August 17, 2013 Okay, now you're just messing with us. Is this the same shot at different exposures or did that same car just keep circling the block? :-)I'm having a hard time deciding which one I like best: (rainy) daylight, twilight or eminent nightfall). At this moment, I think I would choose the lighter shot. While this one does definitely communicate imminent nightfall, my eye just likes the initial posting better (in the BW). Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted August 17, 2013 Amy, the quality is definitely better in the lightest version, but I do think that the darker/darkest versions are sufficiently interesting that I might start all over with that end in mind. In this case, on the other hand, I had already cooked them pretty hard in Photoshop before I reduced the levels. If I am going to underexpose them to this extent, then I will really need to choose a different processing path. --Lannie Link to comment
AmyHelmick 0 Posted August 17, 2013 I agree that the darker renditions are interesting as well. I am enjoying your low light work that you've been doing of late and look forward to what's next. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted August 18, 2013 Thank you, Amy. Unfortunately, I deleted the Raws, since I did not anticipate trying this experiment. The files that I earlier converted from Raw are fine for most treatments. I'm not sure in the case of these really dark ones. --Lannie Link to comment
momagnum 5 Posted August 22, 2013 This image looks very much like the early 1950's. I like the darkness and the simple composition.Great work.Tommy Link to comment
