The weather beaten trees growing out of rock at high elevations in the

Rocky Mountains always amaze me. They hang in there.

Dominick,

Yes, knarled mesquite and junipers (if this is what they are) growing out of solid rock have amazed me too for years.  This is nature teaching us that the desert is lush and irrigated (enough for hearty trees and cacti) deep under the ground. Nice image.  I might add more vibrance or saturation and contrast to the rocks and also sharpen them a bit more to make the texture pop more.  Nice job on this.  Larry

Larry,  I used the adjustment brush in Lightroom on the sky in this photo following your comments on my Arches photo.  My results were not as professional as yours.  Any tips, insight?

Nah, my two cents is that the colors are natural looking and any additional saturation etc. might get too far away from that.

Nice shot. These trees are relentless and are major factors in ripping up the rocks. They find a crack, open it up a bit, water enters and freezes, pop, more space, more root... but you knew all of that.

Brilliant subject matter, I love the textures of the trees and the rocks.

The definition and depth becomes more pronounced when viewed larger.

A compelling scene and a great result from a seemingly bright day.

Any HDR present?

Compliments!

Alf, thanks for commenting.  Yes, HDR.   I try to keep it under control, but sometimes it gets away from me.
