charity1 0 Posted August 5, 2013 A week ago we paddled our canoe below these bluffs, which are called Vilander Bluffs, the highest on the Meramec River. I looked up and saw lots of black-eyed susans and other wildflowers growing along the edge of the bluff and decided a photo from the top would make a nice image. So a week later I came back at dawn and found this lovely misty scene. There is no trail to this spot, I had found it last winter, but with a stored GPS route, I got there in the dark without going off the edge. Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted August 6, 2013 Robert, This image is spectacular. Early awakening paid you dividends with this terrific color and light and perfect reflections. The black-eyed susans set off the image and offer a wonderful burst of bright color. Great mood with the fog too. I also ditto Alf's comments. Best to you. Larry Link to comment

joewhite 0 Posted August 6, 2013 We've almost run out of superlatives for this and rightly so. Very beautiful shot, I especially like the texture on the foreground rocks and the misty horizon against the morning clouds. Link to comment

charles_brennan 0 Posted August 6, 2013 Well worth the effort it took to get there. This is great, razor sharp front to back. Absolutely perfect composition, the rocks and flowers up front leading to the river, the haze above the trees and the spectacular sunrise. Well done. Link to comment
