I think this is a very engaging portrait.  The contrast in their hair and eye color is interesting in an otherwise very light (high-key) atmosphere.  I wonder how different the photograph would be if they both had the same kind of facial expression -- the girl on the left is smiling, while the girl on the right is not.

THANKS, Amy, Stephen, Pierre and Ruud! Stephen, if I remember correctly I just asked both of them to be serious and this is what they did, but I agree...I too wonder what the difference would be. Thankfully they are still BF's and want to do the same shot(s) again! Lucky me!
