The calf acted as though it had never seen an adult bison having a "dust

bath". The calf was hilarious, prancing around, approaching the cow from

different directions. The bison were shedding their heavy winter coats, and

I'm sure they were trying to accelerate the loss of the heavy fur.

I don't know- they just  like it!  Our donkey, goats and sometime dog seek out burnt brush piles of ashes to roll in - great when the goats and dog are white!

This is a lesson for me, we did not have animals in our farm in Cuba that rolled around in dust. Perhaps the Island animals did not get that imprint! Oh my friend is telling me, yes they do it, including dogs and cats and even birds! well lesson learned!
