The grayness and dullness of her skin tone doesn't do much for me, though the water is nicely lit and highlighted. Also, the sliver of sky at the top feels somewhat awkward to me.

I quite like this picture. Hope you didn't get your camera wet. The sunlight let you use a fast shutter speed as shown by the nicely portrayed water.

Cool shot Mark.  I like the movement the water provides.  However, I agree with one other reviewer about the sky line.  I would crop it out and move the model to the right more.

Dear Mark, a refreshing photograph! I agree with the photographers, who want cut the horizontal line. I think the picture would win. Kind regards. hen Ry

I've come back to this photo several times to see what the follow-up comments are which I've been notified of. And I think I've had a change of heart about the horizon line. I think seeing it without that horizon line locates her very differently and doesn't provide me the same sense of the vastness and beyond-ness that the photo in its current form gives me. Also, the fact that it's such a sliver gives this an edginess and even a quirkiness that, once I appreciate it for what it is, starts working better for me.

Thank you all for the kind comments. She happens to have fairly dark skin and was backlighted. I don't like the idea of using a lot of fill at the beach although it might have helped here.
