Side Yard, Before the Massacre

Suburban Landscape: These are the woods beside the house before mylandlord decided that it would be neater without so many trees--thetrees being the very reason I moved in here to begin with. Commentswelcome.

Nice outside (?) result. Nice colors with a very good contrast. Good sharpness and adequate brightness with a third-dimension effect. I'm learning with my Masters. One day, perhaps, I will be at the same level of competence. Congratulations. Roldao

You're too kind, Roldao.  Actually, the version that might be showing now is not necessarily the version that you were commenting on.  In any case, I am not a master, and all of these efforts have been flawed to varying degrees.  A version has been loaded that is not as garish, but it definitely is not showing just yet.

Using the Shadows/Highlights filter in Photoshop seems to cause (among other things) a slight shift from blue to yellow.  A bluish-green seems to predominate in the original.  The blue has been muted by complementary color yellow in the redone version, as a result of using the Shadows/Highlights filter.

 

A more natural green seems to result.

 

Overuse of the Shadows/Highlight filter causes some very strange color distortion.  The precise mechanism is not clear.
