I have a similar image to this, but it is more of the little spider, shot I

had taken previously. I know I could have obtained better focus. This

was handheld, windy day, just after a rain. No water droplets on the

flower, but the upper petals were still a bit saturated on the backside.

The title came from my wondering what it must be like to be so small,

and to be exploring such a pretty flower. I have no idea how an

insect thinks, a topic for further study I suppose. Regardless, in the

Spring and Summer, just being among the flowers is a 'Wonderland'

for me. (any visits and comments are always welcome. I did not post

this under Macro ;-) Gail)

Good Morning Gail, I actually like some of the areas out of focus, such as the area between the spider and the lower part of the image. It has a very dreamlike quality and I like the colors as well. Nice.

Hi Gail,

This certainly is a wonderland, beautifully composed with lovely colours and the little spider is an added bonus! Lovely work! Best wishes. Sarah.

I personally would have preferred a smaller aperture with a little more depth... The spider would have been in focus without compromising the blur...

Nice to see you are still posting very original images. For me the focus which gives to areas which are in focus makes this a winner.

Well done,

Ben

I love the title and the image!

You may not know how insects think, but of course I do : - )

This one "Sidney" is thinking ......."I know if if I just wait here just a bit longer an eejit fly will hit my web......in the meantime I'll just admire the view"

Lovely balance of colours too!

Warm Regards

I'm glad you like this image, and you with your 'bugs', you have to stop talking to them!! Someone might overhear you!  I tried to crop this one a bit better than my last one with the Spider. You had suggested an alternate crop that would  have worked out better. Thanks so much for dropping by, always a chuckle which is always what the Dr orders!!

I was handholding, in the wind, I figured the spider would just scurry away or get blown off the flower. I was Spot Metering hoping to get the Stamens in Focus. You do lovely work. I don't know how you get the insects to stay so still in an outside setting, but I can tell you are more experienced than I. Hopefully one day I will measure up to your Quality of work. It is something to strive for. I am posting the original for you to see.

Hi Gail,

I like this "splash" effect, where the areas quickly transform from the focus regions to the blurred regions.

Wonderful colors presented.

Warmest Regards, Mike

Don't get me wrong... I think it is a fine image, I was just expressing my personal preferences... As for my work, you are too kind! I still consider myself a rookie. I only started photography 2 1/2 years ago... But I am passionate!

Sincerly,
