Only In My Dreams

19_09_2009 for Main Image but I've used so many layers in the composition. The Exif Data is not of much use in this case.

I think we have all experienced in our dreams when things seem

distorted; we weave in and out of memories, some very old and

sometimes ones we've actually forgotten. At times I've had dreams

that have been very comforting reminding me that while someone

special I've loved, while they are not present in this life, they are very

much alive in Spirit and in my Heart. (any visits and comments are

always welcome, :)Gail

Sugoi! (Japanese for "great!!"). Your layering talents really came through on this one, Gail. Obviously it's a manipulation but one done so well that it has the feeling of its own reality. Spookily wonderful.

The interpretation of dreams is still pending...why we dream?  What's their meaning, if any...

Oneirology is trying to explain and give answers to questions related to dreams/oneira. (dream=oneiro).  I would say that these are images from the unconscious.  Pretty common ha!  I don't know but I think these are images, senses, feelings, emotions that come from deep within us.  I wish I could explain them, but I can't.  I can only speculate.  Like in the case of Gail's image.

Lost souls trying to find a way to the eternal peace?  Persons try to communicate but the empty chair and the closed door prevents them from doing so?  (there's no one to open the door-empty seat).  People that they left to a better place?...who really knows

Beautiful image from within and very well presented, "open" to many interpretations with nice coloring.  Great work my dear friend Gail.  Looking forward to more of your dreams...

Hi Gail,

An excellent presentation my friend.

Dreams are wonderful, as you and I have discussed many times over the telephone ...............!

I am proud to admit that I dream in many wavelengths, like the UV, IR and other wavelengths that our eye can not see without specialized instrumentation. It adds a spice to life, because our minds can take on us journeys not possible in the real world.

Warmest Regards, Mike

Its a great testament to your photographic, creative and processing skill to be able to convey the mixed emotions and tangled threads of reality from the dream world that we all find ourselves in ocassionaly .

Who knows what fragments of our subconscious are real, sometimes they seem more real in our waking moments than reality itself.

The complexities of our mind takes us to places outside of our comfort zones when it is released from our control.  Repetetive dreams fascinate me!

Compliments & Best Regards

Dear Gail, with our dreams we fly, we go to places with are not allowed to, we construct worlds, we are near to people we want to be. Your dreams lead  you to you relatives and to  created this wonderful wall  for them.

Very good my friend, another winner in your wall, I love the composition and colors, plus lots of details which made my thoughts fly and dream too.

Hugs,

Great concept skilfully presented! How resilient our memories are to time corrosion? Probably, it depends on how much stamina we still have. Thanks for sharing.

This one has nostalgia, mystery, fantasy and magical touch all into one. A beautiful work and creation worthy of recognition. Congratulations, Gail.

The part of this I like best is the apparent transparency of the objects surrounding the door. They are both there and not-there. Beautifully inspired and rendered picture...

Actually in the window is an image of my Mom as a very young schoolgirl, and the other image was one of my favorites of her holding me when I was a baby. I have very few images of her when she was really young. When I dream of her now, she looks like she did when I was a teenager, and in my  twenties. Sometimes as I am drifting off to sleep I hope I will dream of her. She was a great Mom. This is an image I'd like to print for the children's Scrapbooks.  Thank you for sharing your thoughts on dreams Luisa. I think when you are a creative person, you dream vivid dreams.

Always appreciate your support and thoughts, safe travels my friend, Gail
