I saw your comment on Nick Merten;s photo and was quite surprised. I hadn't heard anything from you in a long while. I hope this means you'll be a regular poster on pn again. You and I go way back, Svend, and I've long admired your talent. Love the irony in this picture.

I usually don't like mixtures of color and BW, but this one is something else! Yellow goes well with black!

Thanks for the kind words Jack – means the world to me. I come back to PN from time to time – The return in form of comments, views and suggestions have become pretty low, so i tend to only post my images on facebook. But once in a while I feel the urge to spread a little joy, by posting comments on other peoples images – encouraging them to keep taking pictures.
 

I have also admired your talent for street photography and have tried a little my self. I do not have your eye for the street photo, but I do get breathtaken by common day situations like the barbershop image - I actually thought of your images when i took it.

A very imaginative and unique piece. Well arranged, and photographed.  A delightful sense of humour in the juxtaposing of the happy/grumpy faces and the color/monochrome.  Top marks to you.

Great portrait...I really like the combination of elements and the opposite expressions...very creative.  I also like the combination of B&W and color...very effective for this image.  Excellent pose and expression....nicely done.

You are absolutely correct and I feel the same way. But when you post high quality images like this one, there is not much to say and anything 'constructive' might be considered as nit-picking.

 

Firstly I like the contrast between the smilely cup and your stern or sad looking face. Combine this with technical excellence then you have a very good image. So congrats.

 

Nit-picking? If this was my image, I would clone out the two small white dots on the eye on the left side.

English are not my native language, so sometimes i express myself a bit vague. I can't complain about the amount of comments i receive.

Thanks for your nit-picking - i see what you mean and agree. The white dots should have been removed. It's one of those things that pop up after the decision to show the image public.
