This stream flows from Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park. The

turquoise/aqua color of the water is real, and is a characteristic of the water

in streams and lakes in this region. It was explained to me the glacial silt

absorbs certain colors and reflects others, this being the result.

Thanks Mike!   I saw enough bears to last a life time.  It took only one that was close on a trail.  But the natural beauty made almost any risk worthwhile.
