Glam Girl

I love this portrait but might've appreciated a sharper focus at the eyes. You're not wrong to prefer the soft focus if that's what you were going for. Well done either way. 

Melissa - I enjoy the series of this little girl (your daughter I presume from the caption?) that showed up in my recently uploaded stream.  What a beautiful subject.  The neutral color of the background and hat really make her eyes pop.  Lovely.

Expression, for me, is the most important element in photographs of children and on that note alone I feel you have aced this shot.  All else is secondary.  But you've done well on the props, the lighting, the pose, and arguably, except for the shallow DOF, the sharpness.  Her eye, camera right, is exceedingly sharp.  No argument there.  Artistic decision as to getting both eyes sharp or not but if you had to choose only one eye at least you got the correct one.  Your portfolio should be an inspiration to all of us on PN.  You've excelled so many times.  Couldn't begin to comment on all of them individually.   I'll be back for more.   Best, LM.
